About CommShare

Helping young people connect, lead and thrive — one lunchtime and education session at a time. CommShare began with a simple idea: What if lunchtime could become a space where every student felt included, confident and connected? That idea grew into a youth-led program now helping schools and education settings across South Australia build safer, kinder and more vibrant communities.

Our Story

CommShare started seven years ago as a student-led project inside one Adelaide school.

It was simple, fun and surprisingly powerful — students felt more connected, lunchtime conflict dropped, and young leaders emerged.

After a break, we’re back and growing — bigger, stronger, and ready to support more schools than ever with a proven, scalable, low-cost model.

We know what works because we’ve lived it.

CommShare is built on three corepillars:

Our Pillars

CommShare for Schools

our pillars

  •  Belong

Learning happens best when young people feel safe, valued and included.

Homework clubs play a vital role in building a sense of belonging—especially for students who may need extra support or a quiet, encouraging place to learn after school. By supplying friendly volunteer tutors and inclusive learning materials, we help create environments where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and being themselves.

Our tutors don’t just help with homework—they build relationships. They listen, encourage and show up consistently, helping students feel connected to a wider community that believes in them. When young people feel they belong, confidence grows—and so does their willingness to learn.

  • Lead

Positive role models can change the course of a young person’s life.

Our volunteer tutors lead with kindness, patience and empathy. They model positive learning behaviours, resilience and a growth mindset—helping students see that leadership isn’t about being the loudest voice in the room, but about showing up, trying your best and supporting others.

Through small-group support, CommShare tutors help students develop independence, problem-solving skills and self-belief. Over time, many students begin to take ownership of their learning, support their peers and step confidently into leadership roles of their own—at school, within their families and in the wider community.

  • Thrive

When students have the right support, incredible things happen.

We equip homework clubs with practical, curriculum-aligned educational resources that strengthen core literacy, numeracy and study skills. Combined with personalised tutoring support, this helps students move beyond simply “keeping up” to truly thriving in their learning.

As confidence builds, we see improvements not just in academic outcomes, but in motivation, engagement and overall wellbeing. Students begin to believe in their abilities and imagine brighter futures for themselves—at school and beyond.

Thriving looks different for every young person, and we’re proud to support each student on their own unique learning journey.
