What exactly is CommShare?
CommShare is a youth-led lunchtime and homework club support program that helps schools and education settings create structured, inclusive activities to boost student social connection, confidence and wellbeing.
Who runs the activities in schools?
Your school’s CommShare Student Leadership Team, with one supervising staff member and support from a CommShare Mentor.
What ages can be involved?
Primary: Years 5–6
Secondary: Years 7–9
All students are welcome to participate — the leadership team runs each session.
What’s in the CommBox?
A toolkit containing activity supplies, games, templates, signage, safety checklists and creative ideas for the whole term.
How often are the activities run?
Once a week at lunchtime — though some schools choose 2–3 times per week once they’re confident.
Do staff need to plan anything?
No.
CommShare provides all planning templates, calendars and resources.
Staff simply supervise and support.
Is it safe?
Absolutely.
CommShare mentors have Working With Children Checks, and our program follows SA child-safe guidelines.
Your school retains primary duty of care.
Can we customise the activities?
Yes!
Every term is co-designed with your student leaders and CommShare Mentor.
What if our school has limited space?
CommShare is designed for flexibility — a library corner, hallway nook, balcony, undercover space, courtyard or classroom can all work well.
How much does it cost?
We offer several low-cost packages depending on school size and level of support.
Because we use existing school resources, the program is highly affordable.
Can we trial CommShare?
Yes — we offer free demonstration visits.
